Catherine: Feeling

Catherine: Feeling

Dear Warriors, here is my poem: Feeling.

Fear,

Fear of the unknown.

It’s not the darkness that we fear,

But the thoughts inside our heads, that shout out loud.

Breathing becomes heavy and you clench your teeth.

Humans complicate everything,

Even the simplest feelings.

Even the touch of the hands,

Becomes more than just a touch.

Even the words, you once said out loud,

Still sit in your head, comfortably, scarring each cell of your brain,

As if it’s not enough,

To love, and not be able to breathe.

In fact,

Nothing else matters, once you disconnect from yourself and your dreams,

And your biggest passions.

One day,

When you turn on the lights,

The reflection in the mirror will gaze at you without saying the word,

Without whispering or making any sound.

We don’t need words to sense the true pain or feelings,

We just need time,

To lose, to fall and heal...

Who you are,

Is not the reflection,

But the story inside your eyes.

The fear,

Fear of the unknown,

And the complicated knots inside our minds.

The fear,

We don’t fear the darkness,

But the thoughts inside our heads,

That shout out loud.

That scream,

That break the silence in the darkness of the night...

Sitting by yourself,

All alone,

Even the wind hesitates to step into one’s home.

In the middle of the rainy night,

Feelings haunt you,

Only feelings won’t leave your soul.

Now you fear your own reflection,

Your eyes speak louder than your words.

If you cover the mirror with the old cloth,

Maybe dreams can shelter you reality.

If you cover the windows and the door,

Maybe this place can become your home.

Sitting by yourself,

All alone,

Counting stars, with your eyes closed.

Sitting by yourself,

All alone,

There’s something painful about holding onto single hope.

In the middle of the night,

We all fear someone,

Sometimes - it’s just us.

Your breathing becomes heavy,

You close your eyes,

And you count the stars.

In the middle of the night,

We all fear someone,

So we close the eyes....
