Luise Kraft: It’s me

Hi Margi and Warriors!

My name is Luise, I am 19 years old and I am struggling with anorexia and bulimia for two years now. I read the Warrior Talk posts and it really inspired me to write a poem. The poem describes EDs as a friend, who acts like he would know you but it turns out that he doesn't want what's best for you.

*IT'S ME*

Hello it's me

Your ed

I can be anorexia, bulimia, binge-eating

As long as you keep me feeding

I will be repeating

These thoughts in your mind

That no one should find

I know how you feel

Alone, depressed and not real

You're craving love and attention

And not even to mention

The power of control

Which you want deep down in your soul

But hey, I'm your friend

Until the dead end

I can give you all the feelings

That you find appealing

Like the happiness you get from showing bones, loose clothes and a paper waist

Not to forget the number on the scale that doesn't raise

I can help you lose weight

Even after you ate

Just take laxative or throw up

That will make all of the binge-eating up

Don't think about your bodies damage

That will be easy to manage

With me everything seems so simple and great

But you should be afraid

What the future will bring

If you can't get rid of me, "this thing".

I really like what you are doing and the way you are putting it out in the world! I love Warrior Talk.

Thank you!

Best regards,

Luise Kraft
